Shaolin kung fu is a martial art from Taiwan and the R.O.C. Kung Fu mainly focuses on striking techniques but also includes some locking techniques and takedowns. Kung Fu techniques incorporate animal styles such as Dragon, Tiger, and Crane. The techniques aim to develop strength, energy, balance, flexibility, rhythm, focus, and timing. A typical class consists of the following:
-stretching and warm-up activities
-instruction on pre-arranged exercises called forms
-practical self-defense training drills
-punching and kicking drills
-light sport sparring
The classes will be led by Master Sean Eriksson. 4th degree black belt in Kung Fu. Multiple time grand champion in forms, weapons, and sparring. 1st degree black belt in Judo, USA judo coach, and brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Instructor Highlights - Sean Eriksson
1997 - began training in Shaolin Kung Fu under Grandmaster S.L. Martin, Hung Jin Hu, at Bordentown, NJ. Traveled to Taiwan in 2004, 2006, and 2008 with the Green Dragon Exhibition Team.
2007 - began training in Judo at Princeton Judo, brown achieved at Cranford Judo, black belt achieved at Liberty Bell judo in 2015.
2016 - began training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Vacanti Jiu Jitsu in Hainesport, NJ. Achieved brown belt in 2024.
